Psychotherapist, CEO, Co-Founder
I’d identify myself as a quirky and passionate therapist; and my own life experience has led me to this passion, followed by formal schooling and a professional degree to allow me to learn how to be the best psychotherapist I can possibly be.
I opened Oasis in early 2018 with the goal of being to provide an unique approach to mental health, where a patient can see their therapist and prescriber (if applicable) under one roof, a place where the patient is truly the most important person. A place where the patient feels respected, valued, and trusted. For me, there is a true passion behind the work we do at Oasis. Whether it be anxiety, stress, depression, substance use problems & other addiction behaviors; sexuality-related struggles: each of these can be incredibly difficult to cope with and can cause us to feel hopeless. Thankfully, there is help available and there IS hope that things can change.
Speaking generally, my primary goal is to help you find your own vision of success & happiness. In other words, having an alliance with my clients is very important to me. My name is Tim and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have been working in direct psychotherapy practice with patients with substance use, emotional, or sexuality-related struggles since 2013 and passionately seek to continue expanding my skills, checking my biases, and staying current with the most effective strategies.
My counseling technique can be described as affirming, person-centered, & compassionate. Trained in several clinical modalities, my practice style is eclectic, incorporating pieces of dialectical and cognitive-behavioral therapies, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, acceptance commitment therapy, as well as several other evidence-based interventions.
